J’ai très longtemps refuse le traitement. D’abord, parce que je savais qu’il était terriblement lourd, mais aussi parce que je voyais bien que les gens continuaient à mourir, et que je n’avais pas du tout envie de jouer le cobaye. J’ai finalement commence une polythérapie en décembre 1999. (…) C’est très lourd, il y a beaucoup d’effets secondaires : vomissements, diarrhées, vertiges, toute une série de choses très désagréables. Et puis, je prends quatorze comprimes par jour, en deux prises. (…) Je ne pense pas que ces traitements seront supportables ou efficaces à très long terme. Il n’en demeure pas moins que chaque jour à sa valeur. Il faut essayer de trouver un sens à la vie quotidienne, à travers des activités.
