AIDS, not hearing Aids Video (School Version)

"& educational support package for schools. What is HIV? What is AIDS? How to avoid getting HIV? HIV/AIDS social issues. An educational support package has been developed by experienced educators of Deaf students for use with this video. It comprises questionnaires, tests, background information, and a complete set of lessons and resources for use by teachers. The kit would be useful for all teachers with all secondary students and especially suited to the needs of Deaf students. The video: Beth and Jason spend the night together...and the issue of AIDS comes up. 'AIDS, not hearing aids' is a video which explains a broad range of HIV and AIDS issues. At times humorous, but always informative, it is presented in Auslan (Australian Sign Language) - the language of Deaf people in Australia. It also has subtitles and voiceovers for hearing and hearing-impaired people. The video is a unique AIDS resource, in that it deals with AIDS in the very situation where the issue is most important but least acknowledged. It shows two people relating and communicating openly about the risks of HIV and AIDS (essential if we are to stop the spread of the disease) and encourages others to do the same. 'AIDS, not hearing aids' is visually sophisticated, but its use of graphics and animation, as well as its presentation in Ausland and inclusion of subtitles and voiceovers, make it a highly accessible video for Deaf, hearing-impaired and hearing people alike.
